Environment Friendly Constructions through Fly Ash Bricks

Fly-ash bricks are increasingly gaining acceptance in construction because of cost effective, durable, fire and moisture resistant and most importantly environment friendly. And more importantly, "fly ash brick is three times stronger than the first class conventional burnt clay bricks". More information about fly ash bricks are here.

Quality in Fly ash Bricks

It's a proven fact that Fly ash bricks which is made with the BIS standards in India are 100 % reliable and long lasting than normal red clay bricks of any other conventional building material.

Example of Fly ash Bricks

The basic chemistry and technology based on which Fly Ash bricks are manufactured has been successfully implemented in major construction project across the globe, namely:

1)      Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan
2)      Hungry House Dam in USA
3)      Euro Tunnel in United Kingdom / France

Fly Ash Bricks Market Survey and Analysis

180 billion tons of common burnt clay bricks are consumed annually approximately 340 billion tons of clay- about 5000 acres of the top layer of soil dug out for bricks manufacture, soil erosion, emission from coal burning or fire woods which causes deforestation are the serious problems posed by the brick industry. The above problems can be reduced to some extent by using fly ash bricks in dwelling units.

Demand for dwelling units likely to rise to 80 million units by the year 2015 for the lower middle and low income groups, involving an estimated investment of $670 billion, according to the Association of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, demand for dwelling units will further grow to 90 million by 2020, which would require a minimum investment of $890 billion.

The Indian Housing Sector at present faces a shortage of 20 million dwelling units in its lower, middle and low income groups which will witness a spurt of about 22.5 million dwelling units by the end of the tenth plan period. There is ample scope for fly ash brick and block units.

Start Fly ash Manufacturing Units

During the rainy seasons supply of clay bricks is very difficult. Therefore, in order to fulfill the required demand there will be a great chance to start more units in the field of fly ash bricks.

The main use of fly-ash bricks is that they facilitate speedy construction and enhance the value of a project in terms of carbon credits.
